It all started with two passionate entrepreneurs, and a project that everyone considered a crazy idea: to create an event dedicated entirely to chocolate. Now, 22 years on, Salon du Chocolat is a huge success both in France and around the world, helping to promote knowledge of and expertise in chocolate, from the bean to the bar, from producing countries to consumers.
Salon du Chocolat is a celebration of chocolate – bars, truffles, cakes, desserts, ice cream, baking, cocktails, sculptures and more. The event includes celebrity chef demonstrations, top chocolatiers and chocolate companies from around the world, tastings, master classes and its famous chocolate fashion show, where 15 chocolatiers are paired with 15 fashion designers to create a collection of yes, you got it…chocolate dresses.
The event has resonated with audiences around the globe, and now attracts a gathering of chocolate lovers in 15-20 locations each year from London to Monaco, Milan to New York, Moscow to Seoul. Fun for both adults and kids, the dedicated kids section of the show, Chocoland, features heaps of activities for 3-12 year olds.
The Paris event, where it all started, is the piece de resistance and not to be missed. So if you’re planning to be near Versailles, France in October/November be sure to check it out.
